Dollish Polish — Expecto Patronum

Today I have another awesome indie brand polish for you guys!

Dollish Polish is one of the many amazing indie polish makers. She has a lot of book, movie, and TV show themed polishes and they're all so awesome!

I'm showing you one of several that I recently purchased from her Etsy store.

Expecto Patronum (HARRY POTTER!!!) is  a milky white base with teal shimmer, glitter, and iridescent flakies. It's soooo awesome!!

OPI Serena Glam Slam Duo — Love Is A Racket

Hello lovelies! I have the second polish from the Serena Glam Slam Duo today.

Love Is A Racket is a gorgeous pinky-red with pink and blue shimmer and golden glassfleck sprinkled throughout. In the shade this even looks like it has a bit of a purple duochrome but I'm not sure if it's just something that I noticed when swatching this because I've never heard anyone say it was duochrome.

This is 3 coats of LIAR (haha!) without topcoat. It is a bit sheer so 3 coats is necessary, but you could maybe get away with doing 2 thicker coats.

Direct Sunlight.

Do you see the duochrome in the shade?

See the bits of shimmer?

I also layered 1 coat of Pros & Bronze on top of Love Is A Racket since these are a duo and I'm assuming they are meant to be.

Honestly, I never would normally choose this kind of color since I'm not much of a pink or red fan but this is a really pretty color.

Not sure if you can still find this anywhere but I managed to pick this up on sale at my local Marshalls.

Until next time~ :)

Another haul post! :D

I have another haul post for you guys. I've been on a buying spree recently, especially when it comes to indie brand polishes.

Firstly I have a few polishes that I got all individually and put them together. I didn't realize until after that they all have the same color scheme minus the first one. Lol.

L-R: Jessica Iridescent, Revlon Popular, Lynnderella Nosegay, Elixir Lacquers Bad Kitty, & Sinful Colors Cinderella

I also got in The Hungry Asian polishes a while back and never posted about. Kae has regular and mini sized polishes available in her Etsy shop. They're awesome!! And the little drawings on the labels are too adorable.
L-R: Sneeze Breeze, Strawberry, Sea Creature

Next I have fabulous nail mail from the lovely Vanessa of Confessions of a Polishaholic! :D

She packaged the box all cute like an Easter basket. I was all giddy when I was opening it. Thank you sooooooo much!!!!

You can see more from this package and the rest of my haul post under the jump! :D

OPI Serena Glam Slam Duo — Pros & Bronze

Today I have the first polish of the OPI Serena Glam Slam Duo.

Pros & Bronze is a orangey bronze shimmer glitter. It's hard to explain. Lol. It reminds me of the bronze version of China Glaze White Cap, though P&B is opaque enough to be worn on its own.

Out of focus to show the pink / green shimmer.

This is 2 (or 3) coats of Pros & Bronze without topcoat. As you can see it has a bit of pink and green shimmer in the polish along with the lovely texture of the glitter / shimmer.

This is a super lovely color and is honestly the main reason why I picked up this duo. Heh. I bet this would also look gorgeous layered over a black or dark brown polish. It'd probably bring a wooden texture or something to it. I'll have to try it out!

Anyway, I'll have the other polish from this duo - Love Is A Racket - coming up in the next day or so! :)

Until next time~ :)

May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor — Hunger Games Nail Art!

Happy Friday! As you all probably know by now the Hunger Games movie is out! Unfortunately because I have to be a grown up and have a grown up job, I was not able to go see the midnight premiere like I normally would for a series I love. No worries though! My friends and I are going tonight.

So I did a special manicure to celebrate! :)

I tried to do a fire and ember manicure to represent Katniss as the Girl on Fire but I'm not sure how "firey" they actually turned out. Lol.  I used 4 polishes from the China Glaze Capitol Collection and 2 Zoya polishes to create this look. Everything is explained after the pictures! :)

Left hand.

Right hand.

Now, I actually like the flames on my right hand so much better than my left despite my left hand not being dominant so my "drawing" was not so good. Unfortunately since it was later when I finished this, I have no pictures in daylight. I'll have to come back and edit those into the post.

I started off with CND Stickey base coat then did 1 coat of China Glaze Smoke and Ashes, which is a black base polish with dark blue and green shimmer. It's a very pretty color! Then I added a layer of China Glaze Luxe & Lush to represent the embers of the fire. I then used a nail art brush and Zoya Sooki and painted on the shape of fire, went over that with Zoya Reva to add some bling, then added accent of China Glaze Riveting, then on top of that added a bit of China Glaze Electrify. Finished that off with a good coat of Seche Vite, and voila! "firey" nails. Hehe.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it! I wish I could have painted the flames on better but I'm proud of what I was able to do.

What about you guys? Did you go to the premiere? Are you going see it today or this weekend? Are you wearing anything special on your nails for the movie? Let me know!

Until next time, my dears~ :)

Pretty and Polished — Martian Salad

Hello lovelies~ I have another Pretty and Polished polish for you today!

Martian Salad is a medium grassy green holographic polish.

Formula is great. It is a bit sheer so I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. I think next time I'll try to layer this over a similar green so I don't use as much product. Again this is a tiny bottle so I hate to use more coats than necessary. Heh.

Pretty and Polished polishes can be purchased from her Etsy shop.

Until next time~ :)

Pretty and Polished — Party On My Yacht

Monday is here already! Bleh. Lol. I am not fond of Mondays only because the weekend is over and it's back to work!

Today I have a lovely little polish from Pretty and Polished.  You've probably seen this polish posted on several nail blogs recently. And for good reason!

Party On My Yacht is a white based polish with green, gold, and purple micro glitter and it also has sparse blue holographic bar glitter. This reminds me of Mardi Gras but it also reminds me of vanilla icing with sprinkles! :)

This is 3 coats of POMY (haha). It says you can get full opacity with 2 coats but for whatever reason I couldn't. I think next time I'll layer this over a white base to save polish. This is a mini bottle so it's tiny!

Formula wise this is pretty good. It did get a bit stringy / gloopy when I was polishing my nails, but it does dry very fast so that's probably why!

I have two more of these babies to post and I'm excited about it! :)

Pretty and Polished polishes can be purchased from her Etsy shop. Mini bottles (7ml) go for $4.50 each and she has some full sized bottles (15ml) and those go for $8.00 each.

Until next time~ :)

All That Glitters — Don't Pinch Me

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here's my quick mani to celebrate.

I used Sally Hansen Golden-I as a base and layered the lovely All That Glitters Don't Pinch Me on top.

Don't Pinch Me is a sheer green base with small and large green glitter along with medium and bar gold glitter. I used 3 thin coats of Don't Pinch Me on top of 2 thin coats of Golden-I. I then added a coat of Gelous and topped that off with Seche Vite.

Pardon my poor pinky nail I knocked it twice while doing this manicure. Luck was obviously not with me! Lol.

What do you guys think of my St. Paddy's Day mani? I think it came out pretty good. :)

All That Glitters polishes can be purchased at her Etsy shop for $8.00USD each. She has a wide variety of beautiful glitter polishes!  And this is the first of 3 that I have from her.

Hope you guys have an awesome weekend!

Until next time~ :)

A England — Tristam

TGIF! So happy it's Friday today! Another week come and gone. It seems to go by so fast, doesn't it?

Quick question! I'm trying to make sure my blog doesn't still have the annoying captcha  as well as moderator approval. I made everything moderated so you wouldn't have to type captcha. If it's still showing up, please let me know! Thanks. :D

It's also St. Patrick's Day weekend. What are you guys wearing on your nails? I'll be posting my St. Patty's day mani tomorrow. :)

Today I have another A England for you guys. :P There's no way anyone can get sick of seeing these beautiful polishes. Lol.  This one is from The Mythicals collection. I never really managed to get that collection due to spending my money everywhere else, but eventually I want to own more than one polish from this collection.

Tristam is a beautiful, deep, rich blue holographic polish. It does have a bit of a purple tone to it but this is definitely more blue than purple (blurple?)

This could be another one coater if you're careful with application! But because I'm usually always in a hurry and it's kind of habit, this is two coats, no top coat.

You can still purchase the Mythicals collection on A England's website, Llarowe, and Ninja Polish. Prices vary on all sites.

Until next time~ :)

A England — Ascalon

Happy Wednesday! Today I have another from the A England The Legends Collection.

Ascalon is a grey holographic with a bit of a lavender duochrome to it. This really is a beautiful color. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the duochrome flash with my camera but it is there!

A bit out of focus to show the holo more.

Again the formula on this was perfect. 2 thin coats to full opacity. If you're more careful with your application you can get away with 1 good coat of this.

A England polishes can be purchased from their website (free worldwide shipping!), Llarowe, and Ninja Polish also offers them now.

Until next time~ :)

A England — Princess Sabra (Tristam's Eyes)

I have another A England polish for you guys today. These pictures are unfortunately not nearly as fantastic as my ones for Dragon were, but the polish itself is still gorgeous!

Today I have Princess Sabra (Tristam's Eyes) from the A England The Legends Collection.

This is a sort of nude / beige / golden / olive holographic polish. It's beautiful and its second name came from Adina's cat Tristam who has those beautiful golden-olive eyes.

Formula on this was like butter. 2 thin coats to full opacity. I thought I would need 3 but that second coat sealed it.

All of the A England polishes I've worn so far have done amazingly well for days with no chips. I haven't worn top coat with any of them either and I can go up to 4 days with only a bit of tip wear. Granted, I change my polish so often 4 days is a long time for me! Lol.

Anyway my dears, I have a couple more A Englands to post this week, so look forward to those!

Until next time~ :)

Haul post!

Happy Saturday! I finished my first week ever of full-time work yesterday. It's a new experience for me and goodness, does it exhaust the crap out of you. So this weekend I'm just kind of hanging around the house and only running a few errands. Unless that all changes, of course, which wouldn't surprise me. Heh.

Today's post is just a haul post! I've received a lot of different polishes over the last week and a half that I just haven't had a chance to post here.

Firstly, I have 3 little mini polishes from PrettyandPolished on Etsy.

L-R: Born Again, Martian Salad, Party On My Yacht
You've probably seen Party On My Yacht on several nail blogs and that's part of the reason I got it. It looks like Mardi Gras or cupcake icing for the nails. Martian Salad is a grassy green holographic polish, and Born Again is a pretty shimmery navy blue base with large and small glitters throughout.

Then I have 3 glitter polishes from AllThatGlitters on Etsy.

L-R: Don't Pinch Me, Dear Hearts, Very Peacock-ish
Don't Pinch Me and Dear Hearts are two of her "seasonal" polishes so I picked them up especially since the heart glitters for Dear Hearts may not be available until next year and despite not being a pink person, I think this polish is so pretty.

Click on the below link to see more because this post is going to be too big to just have out on my blog. Lol.

A England — Dragon

I honestly couldn't tell you what took so long for me to finally wear this amazing polish I'm posting today.

A England Dragon from the Legends collection.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves (not literally, of course).

Dragon is a mossy forest green with a slight golden duochrome and a bit of a scattered holographic effect. The holographic isn't as strong as I thought it would be but I also don't have direct sunlight to test this out with.

The colour and application is just amazing. This is two coats, if I were more careful (shaky hands today) I would have been able to do one good coat.. Adina does some amazing things with polish and I'm happy to be able to own a handful of these polishes.

You can purchase A England polishes directly from their website and from Llarowe.

Until next time, my lovelies~ :)

Nostalgic Lacquer — Andie

Hey guys! First off I want to thank my new followers — AmyGrace from The Polished Perfectionist, Rachael of The Perky Polisher, and Frances! I know it's only a few of you but I really do appreciate you following my blog. I hope to someday make it greater than what it is now. :)

Now! Today I have the last in line from Nostalgic Nail Lacquer's Bizarre Teenage Love Triangle, Andie. Andie is a pastel pink base packed with 4 shades of pink glitters. I'm not usually a pink fan but I really loved this polish.  For the below pictures I layered 2 thin coats of Andie over China Glaze Go Go Pink.

I'm super excited that Erin will be opening her shop again soon! Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to get my hands on more of her wonderful creations! :D You can check out her blog for more information on when she'll be opening shop again.

Until next time~ :)

Nostalgic Lacquer — Blane

Hey guys! I have another lovely polish from Nostalgic Lacquer for you today. It's the second of the three from the Bizarre Teenage Love Triangle.

Blane is a sheer pastel purple base packed with navy, purple, and sky blue glitters.

Unfortunately, unlike Duckie, I did not have a light purple to layer this over so I used OPI Funky Dunkey and it didn't come out the way I'd like for it too. I didn't do a good base coat so my layers of Blane came out looking kind of streaky. That's also the downside of layering a light sheer colour over a dark colour.  I still love this colour and hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a light purple that will match with Blane's base more in the future but for now this is what I got!

Also because of the darker base the polish itself overall is darker. I still think this is a gorgeous colour and polish. Application was just as lovely as Duckie. I used 2 thin coats over my base and didn't have to fish for glitter. The glitter in Blane is a bit more dense than Duckie.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this! I did a ton of swatching yesterday so I hope to have the next couple of weeks full of posts (at least every other day). I also have my China Glaze Capitol Colors coming in today so I'll be super excited to swatch those!

Until next time~ :)

Color Club Backstage Pass over Zoya Megan

Another oldie from January. I never got around to taking a good shot of the base colour Zoya Megan, but I did get it after I layered on Color Club Backstage Pass.

Megan is a light/medium greyed out lavender. Even though Zoya calls it "a taupe gray cream". There is nothing "taupe" about this colour. This went on like a dream. It was a bit uneven with the first coat but the second coat covered everything and it leveled out wonderfully.

Backstage Pass is a large silver and purple hex glitter with smaller silver glitter in a clear base. This was so difficult to apply and if you look close enough you can see all the billions of bubbles I got with layering this glitter. You just seem to get tons of clear base before you get any glitter. Next time I'll just pour some out on a paper and stick the glitter on by hand. Lol.

Overall a fun and funky combination. Removal of that huge glitter was a complete pain in the rear and it doesn't sit well on the nail. Though for something a bit different and full of flair for a night out, this is a pretty good choice in my opinion.

Until next time~ :)

Nostalgic Lacquer — Duckie

Hello lovelies! Today I have an absolutely fabulous polish for you today.

Duckie from Nostalgic Lacquer! This is a part of the Bizarre Teenage Love Triangle collection. I did get all 3 in the collection but today I'm just showing you this one. The other two will be in their own posts. :)

Artificial light, no flash.

"Duckie is a combination of chartreuse, holographic teal, and pastel green glitters in varying sizes floating in a semi-sheer pastel teal base."

I did kind of have to mess around with some colour correcting to show the true colour but it's still not perfect. The above picture is a bit more green than this polish is in person but I was just having a time of it trying to capture the colour. It's a lovely teal/minty green though. It was a dream to work with. 3 thin layers over ORLY Gumdrop. I really didn't have any problems with the large glitters either. I didn't have to fish them out like a lot of polishes do.

And here is a picture of ORLY Gumdrop on it's own. Again the colour is not TTL, but it's close (excuse the weird skintone if you notice it).

Nostalgic Lacquer retails $9 USD each. These are full .5 fl oz bottles so no minis here. I think they are definitely well worth it. :D She's actually moving from Etsy and going to be setting up shop elsewhere, but you can check out her blog for updates.

Until next time~ :)
