Petites — Zodiac

Happy Hump Day!

I have a quick post for you guys today.

Petites Color Fever Zodiac is a purple duochrome shimmer. It's very similar to Kat Von D's Wonderchild from what I have seen, so if you are lucky and can find this little wonder at your local RiteAid, Walmart, Big Lots, etc. you might have a much more affordable dupe. :)

This is 2 coats of Zodiac. You can see more of the duochrome in the last picture. It's really quite gorgeous in person and this shimmers so beautifully in the sun! The formula on this is really good for such a cheap polish and dry time is decent.

If you can't find these little gems in your local stores, you can make a phone order through them and you can even get free shipping and no minimums. Now I haven't done it but have just seen it posted on their Facebook a few times. :) And as an aside, I have no idea if these are B3F.

Until next time~ :)

The Spooky Bones Company — Dr. Vink

Today I have another awesome indie polish for you guys. I thought I had posted something from them before but it seems I never did!

Strange Polish by The Spooky Bones Company is an indie polish shop that has a lot of "scary/horror" themed polishes. They're pretty damn cool. :) I purchased a handful of polishes from them a while back and they even threw in 2 free minis! I thought that was so awesome!

Today I have Dr. Vink, which is a dark purple jelly base packed with silver holographic glitter. The description from the listing is so much cooler than what I could come up with though.

"Dr. Vink is perhaps the maddest scientist on Are You Afraid of the Dark. An insane doctor, Vink (with a Vuh Vuh Vuh) steals and bottles people's fear. A crazed old man with a mane of silver hair flecked with dark purple grays and black, the evil Doctor always manages to escape to terrorize another day. We pay homage to this character with a deep purple polish is littered with holographic silver glitter."

Direct sunlight.

This is 2-3 coats of Dr. Vink with a topcoat of Seche Vite. This polish works like a dream and there is no staining from this, which I was SOOO excited about! The colour is beautiful as well.

You can purchase Strange Polish from their Etsy store. Prices range from $3.50 for minis to $10 for what seems like their newest collections.

Until next time~ :)

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer — Rayanne

Late post is late today! I hope you guys are having a great Memorial Day weekend! I have no plans really so I'm just bumming around the house and if something comes up then I'll be down with going somewhere. Hehe.

Today I have an indie polish that I haven't posted from in a while.

Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Rayanne is "a purple based jelly with bright purple, lavender, burgundy, gunmetal, and pink glitters in various shapes and sizes." It's really a beautiful polish!

This is 2 coats of Rayanne over 2 thin coats of OPI Funky Dunkey (which is my default purple underwear!).

I had no issues with formula on with this polish and it went on very well and the wear time on this was great. I've been wearing it since Tuesday/Wednesday with only a bit of tip wear. I plan on taking it off today though. Hehe.

You cab buy Nostalgic Nail Lacquer polishes from Erin's bigcartel site. Currently everything is sold out but you can check her blog for updates.

Until next time~ :)

Nerd Lacquer — I Think You Call Me... Sexy

Happy Friday! Don't forget about my current giveaway!

Today I have another Nerd Lacquer polish for you guys. I really am sad that she seems to have disappeared but alas, there are things that go on in people's lives outside of the internet that affect them in more ways than we can imagine.

Anyway! I Think You Call Me... Sexy is a beautiful Tardis blue shimmer base packed with multi sized glitters in silver and blue and fuchsia micro-glitter/shimmer.

Below is 2 flawless coats of ITYCMS (whoo) with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend! :)

Until next time~ :D

Nerd Lacquer — All of Time and Space

Hey guys! Don't forget about my giveaway!

I have another pretty awesome Nerd Lacquer polish to share with you guys today. My pictures are absolute crap so please forgive me!

All of Time and Space is a sheer shimmery minty green base with different sizes of silver and fuchsia glitter. This is a really gorgeous colour, but I don't really think it works well with my weird skin tone. Lol.

I used 2-3 thin coats of All of Time and Space and there was still some VNL. Next time I think I will try to layer this on something.

This is a fantastic polish though. Formula was perfect just like with all NL polishes.

The Nerd shop is apparently gone now though and there has been no word from the maker Amanda. It seems she has gone MIA. :/ Which is a shame since I was really looking forward to getting my hands on some more of her polishes.

Until next time~ :)

Small Haul Post!

I keep telling myself I'm going to go on a no buy but I always end up breaking that promise. OTL. At least this time it wasn't too major of a haul....

Also! It's about time but I'll be having a giveaway starting tomorrow! That's right! Check back here around 9am CDT for your chance to win! :D

First up are a few Candy Lacquer polishes! I love her labels like whoa! They're so freakin' adorable!

L-R: Sea Nymph, Cracked Ice, Block Party

All that beautiful glitter. Mmm.

Next up is Enchanted Polish! Now I only bought one because they are a bit pricey at $12 a bottle, but for holographics and how unique these colours are, I'll definitely be buying another or few more soon! :D

Enchanted Polish Dragon Spit

HSN was having a super clearance on some Deborah Lippmann sets so I had to buy some! You can't beat $9.95 for two DL polishes! That is a steal.

L-R: Footloose, Almost Paradise, Let's Hear It For The Boy, Dancing In The Sheets

And lastly, I had been wanting to get my  hands on some Kleancolor polishes for a LONG time now but the only site (their site) had them for almost $3.50 a bottle. Well when Laura from Polish All the Nails posted that she got 20 Kleancolors from a better site, I had to find out where! And so I made my order for all the Chunky Holos they had to offer plus a few others. Lol. You can pick them up from BeautyJoint.com for $1.75 ea! Their turnaround was super fast too!

L-R: Chunky Holo Candy, Poppy, Fuchsia, Scarlet

L-R: Chunky Holo Clover, Teal, Bluebell, Purple, Black

L-R: My Rightful Throne, Holo Green, Holo Blue, Holo Chrome

And that's all! I do have a couple of polishes coming my way from The Hungry Asian and All That Glitters, but that's all I've bought recently! I'm going to try to be good for a while. At least until another indie polish maker restocks shop...

Until next time, my lovelies~ :)

Nail-venturous — Flying Blue Jay

Happy Saturday!

So my plans fell through to go to California so I'm stuck here in the swamps still. But have no fear! I have an awesome polish for you guys today!

Nail-venturous Flying Blue Jay is a beautiful vibrant cobalt blue jelly base packed with light blue micro-glitter and two different sized white hex glitter.

Say hello to my super short nails!

This is 3 coats of Flying Blue Jay with a topcoat of Seche Vite.  I still had a few bald patches with 2 coats so really only a few nails have 3 coats. 2 thickish coats would have been perfect coverage. I didn't get as many larger hexes on the nails because I didn't shake my bottle enough before application. /durrrr  Drying time on this was awesome, especially with how thick I thought this would be.

Nail-venturous Lacquers can be purchased through Amy's Etsy store (or a few select on Ninja Polish), but she's taking a break for now. You can check out her Facebook page for more updates.

Until next time~ :D

Lacquistry — Autumn Flurries

Long time no post. I have been so so so busy. I'm trying to go to California this weekend and have been having a lot of issues with flights and all. It's been a hectic time and I don't really have anything prepared for the coming days so I hope this post can hold you all over for a while.

Today I have another great Lacquistry polish called Autumn Flurries. Now my bottle is really orange but the description and pictures on Jenna's Etsy page made this look a lot more red. (It's like a reddish orange but definitely pulls more orange than red.)

"Lacquistry's Autumn Flurries Nail Lacquer is some of fall in a bottle with red, golden orange glitters, and large red and gold hex glitters..."

You can see what I mean in my pictures.

I layered 2 thin coats of Autumn Flurries on top of China Glaze Make Some Noise, which is a coraly pink color. I wonder if I would have put this over a red if it would look more red but it may not have.

Formula was good on this. It's a thick glitter so getting the larger hexes on the nail is not difficult at all. I always love Jenna's polishes but I was a bit disappointed this came out to be  a lot more orange than what the Etsy listing shows.

You can purchase Jenna's polishes from her Etsy store. They're about $8 USD each and are all full size 15ml bottles. Her shop is currently sold out but you can check her out on Facebook for updates.

Until next time~ :)

Bettina — Sand Blast

Here's the base to the post I posted yesterday.

Bettina Sand Blast is a part of their Jeans collection. This is a light grey creme.

Below under artificial light, no flash.

Application was good. I used two medium coats and at first I thought I'd need a third, but the second coat leveled itself out. This is a bit on the thick side but it's not hard to work with and nothing a little thinner can't fix.

This is such a great neutral color. It made my nails look SOOO much longer than they actually are. Lol. I wore this for close to 5 days and have just some tip wear. It wore really well. :)

Until next time~ :)

Nailventurous — Floam

Happy Friday!

Today I have another fantastic indie polish from Nailventurous Lacquers! I was actually really lucky about getting one of these from Ninja Polish when it was restocked. There was a cart / check-out snafu and the girls at Ninja Polish were awesome about helping me out.

I'm sure you've already seen this everywhere, but that's not going to stop me from sharing mine! Hehe.

Floam is a clear based polished packed with matte neon yellow-green and blue micro-glitters.  It is SO awesome and dead on for that lovely childhood concoction. Lol.

This is two coats of Floam over Bettina Sand Blast. I don't remember if I used top coat or not but you do need it otherwise this does dry a bit bumpy.

Application was great. I just used two thin-medium coats and was good to go. :)

You can try your hand at picking up Floam from Amy's Etsy when she restocks (not for a while) or Ninja Polish. It goes fast as lightning though.

Until next time~ :)

Icing — Epic Winning

Here is a suuuper old post I'm reposting here from my original nail tumblr.

"Icing Epic Winning revisited!
I layered it over Haunting, Goth, & Starry Night (since I did this after I did my comparison swatches). The black bases definitely make the glitter pop much more than over grey. I did this to go out in New Orleans and my sparkly holo nails were fab! I wanted something super blingy and this definitely lived up to that.
This was two layers of Epic Winning over my black/silver bases. Pictures don’t really do holos justice. This was more rainbowy and sparkly in person."

My nails were so much shorter than they are now! Lol. This was a gorgeous manicure though. I wore this for my friend's bachelorette party and the entire night I just kept staring at my nails. Lol.

Epic Winning is a sheer navy based polish with silver holographic particles. It's gorgeous in person.

Until next time my lovelies~ :)

Essie — Navigate Her

Today I have an oldie, but still a goodie. Well it's not that old.

Essie Navigate Her from the Navigate Her Spring 2012 collection.

Navigate Her is an avocado green creme. Formula on this was a bit thin and runny but it really wasn't hard to work with. Below is 1 thin coat and 1 thick-ish coat of Navigate Her, so 2 coats total with a top coat of NYC; all taken outdoors.

Ignore the mess on my ring finger, please. I didn't even realize that I had polish on my finger until after I took these. Lol.

I don't LOVE it like I thought I would, but I don't hate it either. These colors don't look very good on me but I still wear them anyway. Hehe.

Essie Navigate Her can be found at many retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc. and they retail for $8 USD each.

Until next time~ :)

Lacquistry — Fluff Nugget (Custom)

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have something that I am VERY VERY excited to share with you guys today! I had been wanting to get a custom polish made for a while, but everyone was busy, then Jenna at Lacquistry announced on her Facebook that she was opening up for custom orders. As soon as I saw that, I flew over there to message her. :D

As you all may or may not know, I have a Sun Conure named Sunny who has been with me for 16 years. He is my baby and basically the love of my life. Lol. I wanted to get a polish to represent him and Jenna did just that! I couldn't be more happy with what she came up with.

So I present you my custom Lacquistry polish Fluff Nugget! :D

Here's me trying to model with the inspiration. He wasn't too happy about it. Lol.

I layered 1 coat of Fluff Nugget over 2 coats of China Glaze Sunshine Pop. I'm kind of glad I had a yellow on hand that is as loud and obnoxious as he is. :)

Fluff Nugget is a clear base with a mixture of fine/micro orange glitter, larger pieces of reds, golden holo yellow, holo green, and holo baby blue/royal blue mini-hexs.

I am so so so so happy with this polish you have no idea! Jenna is amazing and such a sweetheart. You can order a custom polish from her for $10 ea. Not sure if she's still taking customs right now, but you can always check out her Facebook for more information!

And if you guys want to see some bottle spam, click the jump! :D
